Simpson’s Local Market (SLM) was founded with the mission of providing a locally owned alternative to corporate grocery stores in downtown Trinidad, Colorado.

A woman-owned business, SLM offers the type of friendly customer service you can only expect from your neighbors. We often special order based on customer requests and have many items for dietary needs that other regional grocery stores do not offer, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and kosher.

What’s in a Name?

One of our founders and managers shares a middle name with prominent early Trinidad resident George Simpson (of Simpson’s Rest, home of the iconic Trinidad sign). Because we wanted to create a store by Trinidad, for Trinidad, we thought the name was a great nod to our history and our present.
